Dove’s February Newsletter…We have had a wonderful month back at school. Wow! How we have grown! Our cutting skills are improving; we are super cleaner-uppers; we know our colors, shapes and most of our numbers and letters. We will continue to practice all of the above throughout the rest of the year.
This month, we will start out discussing some winter animals and their life habits. We will then of course talk about the people and things we “love” for Valentine’s Day. With this theme we will incorporate the Bible story of the Good Samaritan and how we should be helpful and loving to others. We will then roll into our theme “I Am Special.” We will talk about what makes each and everyone of us so special. We will focus on how we each “look” different and have different likes and dislikes. We will talk about our families and our houses.
Our Valentine’s Party is Monday, February 13th at 11AM. Thank you to the moms who have volunteered to help at our party. We will be making a Valentine’s mailbox for our cards in school. If you would like your child to bring in cards to distribute to the class, we will be doing so the morning of the party. Attached is a class list. This is a fun time for the children to pick out cards to give to their classmates. Please provide enough for the entire class (11). Thank you!!
Keep an eye out for our Conference Sign-up Sheet. Conferences will be held the end of February during class time. I will be conducting the conferences and a substitute will be in class with Ms. Paige. If you are unable to schedule an appointment at this time, I would of course be more than happy to work with your schedule, I certainly know how challenging it can be when you have little ones at home to schedule around!!
Our little Doves are blossoming so beautifully. Paige and I are so very proud of them. Continue to encourage the fine motor practice and being a “good-listener.” The most precious gift you could give your child is your time!
